Flat Roofing in Brough
Garages, porches and single-storey extensions across Brough's modern estates mostly wear flat roofs, and the original felt from when those homes were built is steadily reaching retirement. We install GRP fibreglass and EPDM rubber — durable, seamless systems — plus torch-on felt where it's appropriate, on properties from Skillings Lane through to Elloughton. Dormers and extension roofs on the older village homes get the same treatment, with detailing designed around each upstand, outlet and edge.

Flat Roofing in Brough: local factors
Many of the village's pebble-dash houses probably date from the 1920s or earlier. On a house of that age a flat roof is usually a later addition — a rear kitchen, a porch, the top of a bay — and the deck beneath it is the unknown quantity. The deck tends to decide the system, so it is checked before choosing between GRP, EPDM or torch-on felt.

A cracked flaunch — the mortar cap on top of a chimney in Brough — was letting water straight into the stack, the usual cause of damp on a chimney breast. We stripped the old flaunch off, formed a fresh one with a proper weathering slope, and fitted a capping cowl to keep rain and birds out while still letting the flue breathe. A half-day job that spared the stack a full rebuild down the line.
“Very happy with the work carried out by Leonard and the team. Would definitely recommend and use again if needed. Thank you.”
