How it works

A straightforward, no-pressure process from first call to finished job.

  1. Site assessmentWe check the location, surroundings and airspace to confirm a safe, legal flight — drones cannot be flown everywhere, so the survey is planned properly first.
  2. Drone flight and captureOur CAA-registered operator flies the roof, capturing 4K video and high-resolution stills of every elevation, ridge, valley, flashing and chimney — close up and safely from the air.
  3. Footage reviewWe review the imagery to identify defects — slipped or cracked tiles, failed flashing, blocked valleys, moss and early signs of trouble — so nothing is missed.
  4. Written report deliveredYou receive a clear written condition report alongside the footage and photos the same day, explaining what we found and what (if anything) needs attention.

Drone Roof Inspections — frequently asked questions

Are you a CAA-registered drone operator?

Yes. We hold a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Permission for Commercial Operations, so every aerial roof survey is flown legally and is properly insured. Using an unregistered operator can invalidate both the legality of the flight and any insurance reliance on the results.

Can you fly the drone in any weather?

No. Drones cannot be flown safely in heavy rain, fog or strong winds, and we will not risk your property or the equipment. If conditions are unsuitable on the day we rearrange for the next safe slot, usually within a day or two.

What does the condition report include?

You get 4K video and high-resolution still photos of every roof elevation, plus a written report identifying any defects we find — slipped or broken tiles, failed lead and flashing, blocked or damaged valleys, moss build-up, and the general condition of the covering, ridges and chimney.

Can I use a drone survey for an insurance claim or house purchase?

Yes. A dated, photographic condition report is useful evidence for insurance claims (for example after storm damage) and for buyers or sellers who want an independent view of a roof before committing. The report and imagery are yours to keep and share.

Does a drone survey replace a physical inspection?

For most roofs a drone survey gives a thorough, safe overview without scaffolding or ladders. For some repairs we may still need hands-on access to confirm a fix — for example checking the timbers from inside the loft. We will always tell you honestly if a closer physical inspection is needed.
