Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal in Brough
North-facing roof slopes across Brough's estates hold moisture long after the rain stops, and moss takes full advantage — as do the mature trees around Elloughton and Brantingham, which shade roofs and drop debris into the gutters. Our cleaning service scrapes moss off by hand, treats the roof with biocide to hold regrowth back, and finishes with a thorough gutter clear. It's straightforward maintenance that saves tiles, gutters and ceilings from far costlier problems later on.

Moss Removal & Cleaning in Brough: local factors
Slate and plain tile slopes need gentler treatment than a modern interlocking roof, and those are what the conservation area is mainly covered with. Moss bedded into the laps of small units lifts them and holds damp against the nails; a pressure washer drives water up under those laps and strips the surface.
What's included in our moss removal & cleaning service
- Manual and treatment-based moss removal (no damaging jet-washing)
- Gutter and valley clearing
- Biocide treatment to slow regrowth
- A roof condition inspection and report while we are up there
Roof cleaning and moss removal commonly ranges £300–£900 depending on roof size, pitch and access. Gutter clearing can be added. Free fixed quote. See our full price guide.
A cracked flaunch — the mortar cap on top of a chimney in Brough — was letting water straight into the stack, the usual cause of damp on a chimney breast. We stripped the old flaunch off, formed a fresh one with a proper weathering slope, and fitted a capping cowl to keep rain and birds out while still letting the flue breathe. A half-day job that spared the stack a full rebuild down the line.
“Very happy with the work carried out by Leonard and the team. Would definitely recommend and use again if needed. Thank you.”
