Chimney Repairs & Repointing in Driffield
Tall brick stacks stand above Driffield’s market-town terraces and the farmhouses of the surrounding Wolds, and most were last pointed a very long time ago. Wind across the open chalk country drives rain into the joints, mortar erodes, flaunching cracks and pots loosen. We repoint with a mortar matched to the brick, renew flaunching and lead flashings, and take down and rebuild the upper courses where frost has got in, leaving the stack weathertight and safe for another few decades.

Chimney Repairs in Driffield: local factors
Stacks in the southern conservation area vary with the age of the house: the most modern properties have relatively insignificant pots or none at all, while the older ones still carry theirs. A rebuilt stack is matched in brick and mortar to what came off.
