Velux & Skylight Installation in Brough
Growing families in Brough's commuter estates often need another room before they need another house, and a loft brightened by Velux roof windows is a popular answer. We install roof windows across Brough and Elloughton, cutting in cleanly, flashing each unit to the surrounding tiles and leaving the loft flooded with natural light. Older village properties in Welton can take roof windows too, positioned thoughtfully on rear slopes where they suit the building best.

Velux & Skylights in Brough: local factors
Where a cottage runs to only one-and-a-half storeys, as many in the conservation area do, the roof space is already part of the accommodation, so a roof window is often about daylight in an existing room rather than a new one. A window on the street-facing slope is a different matter: a flush, conservation-style unit is often wanted, and permission is worth checking with East Riding of Yorkshire Council first.
What's included in our velux & skylights service
- Roof window supply and installation (pitched and flat roofs)
- Correct flashing kit for slate, tile or flat coverings
- Forming and trimming the opening and internal reveal
- Replacing failed or leaking existing roof windows
Velux and roof-window installation starts from around £695; a standard supply-and-fit commonly runs £900–£1,800 depending on size, access and finishing. Free fixed quote. See our full price guide.
A cracked flaunch — the mortar cap on top of a chimney in Brough — was letting water straight into the stack, the usual cause of damp on a chimney breast. We stripped the old flaunch off, formed a fresh one with a proper weathering slope, and fitted a capping cowl to keep rain and birds out while still letting the flue breathe. A half-day job that spared the stack a full rebuild down the line.
“Very happy with the work carried out by Leonard and the team. Would definitely recommend and use again if needed. Thank you.”
