Lead Work & Flashing in Bridlington
Seafront villas and terraces in Bridlington carry more lead than most towns: bay-window tops, dormer cheeks, parapet gutters and the flashings around tall stacks facing the sea. Salt does the lead itself little harm, but onshore gales lift poorly fixed sheets and wind-driven rain finds any lap laid too short. We renew flashings, bays and dormers in the right code of lead, with laps, welts and fixings sized for an exposed coast, and dress it to the original detail on the Old Town’s Georgian houses.

Lead Work in Bridlington: local factors
Deep-profile coverings change how lead is detailed. Because a pantile's profile will not take a flat soaker the way a slate or plain tile roof does, the lead here is dressed over the profile and worked into a raking chase, using a code of lead suited to the job. Where a wall is painted or rendered over brick, as many in the Old Town are, the chase has to be cut without wrecking the finish around it.
