Pitched & Tiled Roofing in Driffield
Driffield’s market-town centre is roofed in clay pantile and Welsh slate over Georgian and Victorian brick, the interwar semis on the approaches mostly carry the first generation of concrete tiles, and the estates that have grown the town since the 1970s use modern interlocking tiles. Out in the Wolds villages, farmhouses and barn conversions keep to pantile. We work in all of them, matching reclaimed pantiles on older roofs, re-slating with proper headlaps for the exposed Wolds, and fitting interlocking tiles quickly and squarely on newer homes.

Pitched Roofing in Driffield: local factors
Traditional non-interlocking pantile, the oldest covering left in the northern conservation area, behaves nothing like a modern interlocking tile: it is a single-lap covering, traditionally laid without underlay, so the roof space breathed through the gaps. Re-cover one with a sealed membrane and no added ventilation and condensation is the likely result, so ventilation belongs in the specification from the start.
