Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal in Hornsea
Roofs on Hornsea’s promenade stay fairly clean, scoured by wind and salt, but on the inland side of the bungalow estates and in the sheltered streets around the Mere the damp air off the water grows moss on pantiles and porous concrete tiles alike, with lichen marking the slates on older villas. It is cleared with hand tools and a soft brush, the roof is treated to slow regrowth, and the gutters are emptied where slabs of it have slid down and blocked the outlets.

Moss Removal & Cleaning in Hornsea: local factors
Pressure-washing is the quick way to strip moss and the quick way to ruin a roof: on clay pantiles it takes the fired surface off, and on any single-lap covering it forces water through the laps into the roof space. Hand-scraping takes the growth off without that risk, and a biocide treatment afterwards slows the regrowth rather than leaving a clean roof to green over again.
