Velux & Skylight Installation in Beverley
Daylight transforms a loft, and Beverley homeowners increasingly want roof windows rather than the upheaval of moving. In Molescroft's modern homes a Velux installation is usually straightforward; closer to the Minster, within the conservation area, positioning may need more thought and sometimes consent, particularly on street-facing slopes — we'll advise honestly before any work begins. Either way, each window is fitted with the correct flashing kit for pantiles, slate or concrete tiles, and left completely weathertight.

Velux & Skylights in Beverley: local factors
Attic rooms are already part of how the taller houses here work, and dormers were the historic way of lighting them. A roof window is the lighter touch, though in a conservation area the council restricts what can be done without permission, and a dormer may be treated as a roof extension. East Riding of Yorkshire Council is the body to check with before ordering anything for that position.
What's included in our velux & skylights service

Two Grade II listed properties on Beverley’s doorstep show the conservation side of our work: a detailed roof condition assessment at Lockington House, the Grade II listed former rectory in Lockington, and an ongoing programme of lead work, ridge and verge repairs and exact-match tile replacement on a Grade II listed house in Walkington. In Beverley itself, in September 2026, we replaced the rotten timber trough across two terraced houses near Queensgate with a 9-metre run of Twinplas — the twin-wall PVC box gutter made to replace timber troughing like-for-like — fitting new timber corbels beneath it first so the gutter could be set to the correct falls, all finished in a day. The same month we rebuilt a badly eroded chimney stack in Beverley from the roofline up — new brick, oversailing course and flaunching, with the pot refitted under a bird guard.
“Leonard did an excellent job replacing our wooden gutters with plastic ones which look in keeping. He was great to work with, got the job done quickly and we are really happy with the results. I would highly recommend his work.”
